Mission
November is a place for connection between ideas and people. November maps culture through a rigorous yet personal study of artists, writers, and thinkers across disciplines. Our long-form interviews and essays provide an archive of our cultural past and an architecture for the world as we know it.
About
November publishes interviews and original writing, collected in volumes and dropped independently. Volumes have centered on various themes, from ‘postmodernism’ and ‘narrative’ to ‘Semiotext(e)’ and ‘Georges Bataille.’
In November, novelists, actors, musicians, philosophers, artists, filmmakers, academics, publishers, critics, architects, dancers, and chefs gather to document our cultural present.
History
November began as a one-time project of ten long-form interviews published between July and November 2020. These ten interviews, called “cerebral” by The New York Times, formed Volume 0, which featured Adrian Piper, Frank B. Wilderson III, Sarah Schulman, and Hal Foster, among others. After this reception, November continued to publish interviews and essays across themes, subjects, and artistic disciplines.
